Q: How did you get the role of Forrest Gump?

A few others from the leadership class and I were assigned to produce the homecoming promo video, and we thought it would be fun if we could do a High school parody of the movie. My group was spitballing ideas, and we were all kind of improvising dialogue we could put into the video (all the while doing our Forrest Gump accents). The rest of my group thought that my impersonation was pretty good, because I’m a big fan of doing weird impressions (such as Donald Trump and Guy Fieri) so we all decided that I should play the role of Forrest!!

Q: What was your favorite part of homecoming week?

Definitely going to the dance and showing off my mad dance skillz and being the host of the Night rally!! I have so many more things I could say, it was just an amaaaazing week.

Q: How was the theme picked this year?

Over the summer, members of the ASB would meet and we would brainstorm different themes for the homecoming week, thinking about which theme would be most accessible to the rest if the student body and would offer the most enjoyable spirit days. We ended up with 2 front runners (I think I might have to keep the other one a secret!), and we ended up voting on it, with Forrest Gump narrowly winning. Both themes were really creative and fun, and in really glad how fantastic the week turned out.

Q: How many school functions are you involved in?

I’m involved with a variety of things on campus, such as the writer and anchor of the school news, VP of the birthday givers club, an actor in the haunted house, member of NHS, a member on the Leigh swim team, participant in Lip sync and link crew, and an ASB Senator.

Q: How do you manage your time?

Oh boy, how do I manage my time? Luckily, I’ve been able to keep myself pretty busy this year, but I try my hardest just to stay on track with all my schoolwork and to give my full effort to whatever I do. It’s just important to prioritize whatever you wanna get done and when, or else you might end up way over your head. No matter how chaotic things may be, I still just want to have fun. I mean, what good is high school if you can’t enjoy it?
