The holiday season is upon us and while none of us actually made playlists for the holidays these will definitely get you through them. For every holiday even you have to attend this month and wish desperately you could skip and watch netflix instead. Distract yourself from finals, buying gifts, and embarrassing holiday traditions with four playlists cultivated by us for you. All playlists can be found on
8tracks.com under the user name the_eleight. Enjoy!
THE GOOD JUICE by SAM DONNELLY This is the kind of playlist to help you get through those days where staying home is all your craving. These are great songs for just chillin and feel good jams. I listen to these songs when I need that extra push to get through the day. It’s a good balance between not too upbeat and just the right amount of groove.
GROOVY TUNES by SAM VILLANUEVA Think of driving your favorite road when the weather’s a bit chilly and the clouds shield the sun but the light in your eyes hasn’t gone out yet. They fit any type of mood; from bitter, to happy, to just chill. Indie alternative songs take up the majority of this, so if you love jamming to bands from Vampire Weekend to Cage the Elephant, this is probably pretty okay for you.
HONEY by MIA THOMPSON I’ve been really digging the new Cage the Elephant singles and I made a playlist based around the vibes of their sound. There is also a blend of other alternative songs that have been played on repeat for me this month. These songs are great for long drive with friends, walks in the rain, and generally wasting time with people you like.
JAMMIN’ by JASON HENEGHAN This is a playlist for getting in a good mood and just putting a giant smile on my face. These songs make me forget about all my worries and live in the moment. The playlist itself, containing works of the band “A Day to Remember,” has the art of fast and simple guitar riffs. Being a part of the post-hardcore genre, it simply makes you enjoy yourself with a giant smile on your face.
