Being single on Valentine’s Day may seem like the end of the world for some, but this day doesn’t have to end up a cliche of binging on chocolate while crying over a sappy romantic comedy.  Below are a couple of ideas about how you can have fun and forget that Valentine’s Day is even happening!

Treat yourself.  If there’s anything that you’ve been eyeing lately, whether it’s a new pair of shoes or a nice new jacket, splurge and buy it for yourself.  Doing something for yourself will make you feel good, so don’t be afraid to treat yourself.

Go see a funny movie.  “How to Be Single,” starring Dakota Johnson, Rebel Wilson, Alison Brieand and Leslie Mann, comes out on Valentine’s Day and is sure to be funny.  Grab a couple of single friends and make a night of it!

Have a spa night.  Stay at home and listen to your favorite music or watch a movie while giving yourself a home manicure and pedicure.  You can also give yourself a facial with lots of ingredients that you already have in your house.  There are plenty of recipes and tips on the internet for facials and nail care.  After your spa night, you’ll feel refreshed and glad that you did something for yourself.

Use this day as an opportunity to do something that you’ve been meaning to do that you haven’t had time for.  Whether you need to clean your room or work on a long term project, this is the perfect chance. Being productive and busy is a great way to pass the time and it will make you feel great!

Hopefully, these ideas will keep you busy on Valentine’s Day if you’re single.  Don’t forget to have fun and enjoy yourself, no matter what you end up doing!
