Kaiser twins dominate on the mat

With the wrestling season nearly here, Grant and Trevor Kaiser are fired up. Grant and Trevor are two of the most skilled wrestlers on the team, and they’re nearly identical twins. Juniors, Grant and Trevor are both headed into their third season on the team and are both highly respected players.
“It’s really cool, he gives me a good workout partner every day in the room and it’s nice having a kid like him pushing me everyday and challenging me to work harder,” said Trevor.
With lots of returning players this season, both brothers have high expectations for this team.
“I think we’ll do really good, I expect a lot of people to play high up into CCS. Hopefully a couple of people go to state this year. And as far as a freshman team, JV, they’ll do extremely well also.” said Grant.
An abundance of wrestling Longhorns made it to CCS last year and should make another return this year.
Last year the duo made it to CCS and were both rather successful. Grant dominated in the 126 pound class and Trevor killed it in the 113 pound class. Entering into this year, both brothers are high prospects and expected to control the mat this year. Trevor is ranked sixth in CCS in the 113 pound class and Grant is ranked eighth in CCS in the 126 pound class. Both very high rankings and even higher expectations are set on them.
To kick off the season, the wrestling team had a unique match last Wednesday night at Cupertino High School. Although it was just a typical, preseason match, it was done in a very different way. They wrestled outdoors on the mat under the lights. The wrestling mat was laid out onto the Cupertino High School’s football field. It was a new experience to many of the wrestlers and it was so cold water, frosted over onto the mat making conditions slippery and difficult.
With preseason underway, and the Kaiser twins leading the way, the boys can’t be anymore excited to get rolling into the regular season.
