Dressing for success: winter ball fashion insights

Winterball has recently passed, so all of the stress on girls to find the perfect dress has dissipated (for now).  Three main clothing stores sold to most of our Winterball-attending girls: Forever 21, Bebe, and Windsor.

At Forever 21, it can be hard to locate dresses because the store is overwhelming with the amount of choices and styles they have. However, there are multiple options, and if you look hard enough, you can find a cute, affordable dress that you don’t have to worry about ruining because it’s cheap.

“One of the major things I was looking for in a dress was sleeves and lace on it. I went to a couple different stores, but Forever 21 had the best choices and the type I was looking for” said Brooke Thurman, senior.

It is a great store if you know exactly what you’re looking for, and you have the time to shop around. This store is a 7/10 for dresses.

Another popular dress shop, Windsor, is smaller than Forever 21, yet they have a great selection for dresses for specific occasions such as Winterball and prom.

“When shopping for my winter formal dress, I looked for a black bodycon style with long sleeves and embellishments,” said Sara Gayer, senior, who got her perfect dress from Windsor.

Windsor is reasonably priced, and has dresses for a wide variety of tastes. I would give it a 5/10, because I haven’t found a dress that has appealed to me in any way.

Bebe has perfect dress choices for formal occasions. They have an abundance of suitable bodycon-style dresses to choose from; the only small problem is the overpricing of certain dresses.

“I went with a simple black, tight dress because I thought it was the most appropriate for the occasion,” said Sienna Lee, sophomore, who purchased her dress from Bebe.

I would give Bebe a rating of 8/10 due to their good quality cute dresses.

I liked going to Bebe the most because although it was overpriced they had the best quality and selection of dresses I was looking for.
